Global: Founded in Nagoya, Japan in 1936, Niterra Co., Ltd., (formerly NGK SPARK PLUG Co., Ltd.), is a technical ceramics and major automotive supplier renowned worldwide for its NGK-branded ignition parts and NTK-branded vehicle electronics products. Niterra, a coined word combining the Latin words "niteo" (shine) and "terra" (Earth), was introduced as the new company name in April 2023. It expresses the rebirth of a company committed to sustainability through an evolving portfolio focused on ceramics and beyond. EMEA: Niterra’s activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) are managed by Niterra EMEA region. The company began its German operations in 1979. Since 2017, Niterra EMEA GmbH has had responsibility for the EMEA region, with its regional headquarters in Ratingen, Germany. Its main focus has been on the most advanced current growth fields within Mobility, specialising in automotive components from its NGK Ignition Parts and NTK Vehicle Electronics brands, which supply Original Equipment and Aftermarket customers across the globe. In the EMEA region, the company has five regional companies and around 770 employees. Niterra’s EMEA sales represent 24% of the company’s overall global turnover.
